Obermussbach is an example of an Austrian Guesthouse. Austrian stands for clean, fun, good food, solid services clock round, the extra mile. Austrian as its amidst the Hochkoening Alpine Area. This breath-taking Rock of the higher Alps is right in front of our Guesthouse. Our guests are fanatic skiers or seasoned hikers that come back frequently.
The Guesthouse has been an Inn for many, many years and was one of the first three farmhouses in Hinterthal. The name of the town originates in the location itself and means back in the valley. So a quiet place with just one passing path, that took travellers from Saalfelden to Salzburg as long as the ice allowed people to travel. The road can still be hiked but today it is closed for all traffic. Quiet and nicely situated amidst its own farm fields it serves the guests almost year round.
The House and adjacent Appartment are run by the Schwaiger Family with Ludwig as central host. His always smiling face will welcome you and provide you warmth the minute you walk in the door. He will not let you go without a treat of Schnapps!
